Welcome Home Periwinkle Moone!

Welcome Home Periwinkle Moone!

It’s been more than a week since I gave birth to my second princess and I figured it’s time I stop my self-prescribed blogging maternity break. After all, there are tons of stuff I want to share — (with my backlogs and all).

First things first, I was admitted to the hospital last July 24, 2015 as my scheduled CS is the following day. That night, I couldn’t wait for my little darling to come out. peanutbutterโ™ฅ and I were already very excited. We were wondering who she would look like and what would her first reactions be.ย  It was as if we were having a baby for the first time since our eldest, Ykaie, is already 7 years old.

And there she is.. our Perwiwinkle Moone. But you can call her Twinkle for short.

peanutbutterโ™ฅ wasn’t allowed in the OR but just like with Ykaie, I asked my brother who is a doctor at the hospital where I gave birth, to take photos of Periwinkle. This time around, he did more than took photos, he actually got it on video! Thanks Kuya! Mwah!

Here’s Periwinkle’s first groupfie with the friendly and professional OR nurses that day. Thanks a lot, guys!

And of course, her very first visitor who couldn’t wait to see her — Ate Ykaie!

I’ve actually forgotten how painful the first three days of giving birth via CS but every pain and discomfort was worth it when I saw her. She looks just like her daddy and even frowns like him.

We were supposed to be discharged on the afternoon of July 27th but we had to stay for one more day because Twinkle had a fever. She was admitted anda t 3 days old, she had an IV and blood extraction. It was diagnosed as clinical sepsis but we had her blood cultured for other causes of infection. I was crying the whole time, I can imagine how painful that must be for her.

Thank God we were released the following day because her temperature remained stable for 24 hours. She had antibiotics for 7 days though and yesterday was her last day…

Now, we are happy campers here at home! I still can’t get around much. The pile of dirty laundry is turning into a mountain and our home is beginning to look like Smokey Mountain.

With Periwinkle in our lives, we are all having major adjustments but we are beyond happy.
