I used to have lots of collections. When I was in highschool, I collected marvel cards, you know, the one with x-men and marvel characters. I also collected different kinds of stationeries. When I was in college, I tried collecting perfumes and different kinds of token and coins.
I ask relatives who come home to the Philippines for some coins from the country they came from. I asked my aunt from London, my aunt from the US and even my friend who came home from Japan. I even saved up a few pieces of coins from our Thailand tour.
I also kept the tokens from the different amusement parks and arcade centers because I thought they were so cute. Everything was a challenge coin. If I don’t have it, then I work hard until it becomes mine.
Today, those collections are kept neatly inside my cabinet. I take them out just to refresh my memories.
My new collection as a mommy just happened. Since I have a food blog, I always buy a piece or two whenever I see cute dishes and dinnerwares. I always think that the dishes I’m cooking will look good in those bowls or plates.
I woke up one day and I have a cabinet-ful of dinnerwares. And I’m so happy I have them
