I can’t help but laugh when I talk about “Pan De Regla“.
For me, this bread has the funniest name.
Have you gone to the bakery early in the morning and uttered the words “Pabili po ng pan de regla..“? without a laugh or so much as a smile..LOL!
The actual name of this bread is Kalihim but because Filipinos are humorous in nature, is fondly called Pan De Regla.
Why Pan De Regla? Regla is the Tagalog word for “Menstrual Blood” or “Menstruation”. So Pan de Regla literally means “Menstrual Blood Bread”. The filling in the middle is also bread that is sweetened and colored red. Look closely,it resembles a female sanitary napkin. LOL!
Would you still eat Pan De Regla after reading this post? LOL!

I would still eat it. I didn’t really know the name of that bread so I just pinpoint it everytime I buy to the bakery.
