Places To Visit in Cebu

Alright. Here’s me, listing down the places I want to visit… I know we’ll probably be able to visit just one or two of these places. I wish there’s an immaculate vehicle lift that could magically transport ianne A. {our family car} from Manila to Cebu in an instant but there’s none so I guess we’ll just have to rent a taxi or take the bus.

Here goes my list..

  • The Lapu-Lapu Monument in Cebu – I probably want to see where our first Filipino hero and perhaps get some history pumping in my blood. Did you know I hated history as a subject?
  • Magellan’s Cross – This is where the first Filipinos received their Catholic Faith and is very iconic.
  • Taoist Temple – I don’t know why I want to go here, maybe because everybody else goes and I wanna join the fun. They say that this is one of the must-see places in Cebu.
  • Kawasan Falls – this is a two hour drive from the city but they say is a great place for nature lovers. I would probably be too lazy to go here and would opt for a Cebu food tripping instead. Oooh, the foodie in me.
  • Zubuchon – heehee, Of course, this is in one of my places to see. I am and will always be a FOODIE, after all. Last time that we’ve been to Cebu we bought some lechon from Zubuchon at the airport but they say it’s different when you eat it at the restaurant. Hmmnn.. we’ll see about that.
  • Do I dare go malling in Cebu? — I’d say there’s a 60% to 40-% chance..LOL!
  • Sky Experience Adventure at the Crowne Plaza? – Yikes! I hate heights and I’m a walking reminder of that tv show “When Things go wrong”

I also have a list of Cebu Food to try aside from Zubuchon. There’s La Marea, Mooon Cafe, Casa Verde, Cowrie, SuTuKil, Larsian BBQ and A Cafe.

Good Luck to us and my belly.

  1. I’ve been to different places in Cebu but haven’t tried yet the Sky Experience Adventure, will do that next time.

  2. If you want to get a glimpse of the whole cityscape, I recommend visiting TOPS. It’s located on a very high location in the city and you can take awesome shots with the cityscape as your background.

  3. I’m thinking of only one thing when I read this, we can’t go to any of those places in our upcoming Cebu trip! We can only stay so long and we’re spending it the whole time in Plantation Bay. Sayang naman our accommodation if we check out earlier than our package! But I have got to figure out a way to hoard on the piggies. hehe We only tried CnT Lechon, sabi kasi ng mga locals don that we know better than Zubuchon?

  4. I read from a blog somewhere where you can hire Kuya Macky for a whole day tour around Cebu City for only P2500. The destinations would be Taoist Temple, Cebu Heritage Monument, Yap-San Diego Ancestral House, Casa Gorordo, Magellan’s Cross, Basilican Minore del St Nino, fort San Pedro, Mactan Shrine/Lapu-lapu Monument, Alegre Guitar Monument, TOPS, Our Lady of Guadalupe. Haven’t tried him yet but I will in September when me , my mom & friends spend a day in Cebu before going to Bacolod.

  5. Glad, I bumped into your post. My family is set to have a vacation to Cebu this May. I’ll definitely check the places you recommended.
