I’ve always been a fan of Corelle and Corningware when it comes to cookware. Not only do they look elegant and pretty, they are also durable and healthy. That is why when I was invited to their “Make the Healthy Switch” event, I didn’t think twice and I went.
As a homemaker, our top priority is the health and well-being of our family. First thing on our mind is to prepare healthy and delicious food that our family will surely enjoy. Good health starts with fresh ingredients that are hygienically prepared and properly cooked in the right cookware and serving the family meals in a healthy, safe and hygienic dinnerware. This is best achieved by using the cookware and dinnerware that ensure your food is free from harmful bacteria and chemicals, thus protecting you and the health of your family.
These are the four brands of cookware and dinnerware that could ensure your food is free from harmful bacteria and chemicals:
- CORELLE, the leading dinnerware brand in the U.S., demonstrates our style, our taste and our high standards of hygiene, safety and practicality. It is made from Vitrelle, a unique 3-layer laminated glass that won’t stain, fade or chip. It is non-porous, never absorbs food particles or stains, tested and approved at the highest levels for food contact safety. The colour pigments used to decorate all CORELLE dinnerware are approved by the U.S. FDA and do not fade, hence will not contaminate food, ensuring that our family’s health and safety is never compromised.
- CORNINGWARE cookware for stovetop and oven use is the ideal partner for healthy cooking. It is made of pure white, high-tech Pyroceram material that won’t stain, fade or crack despite extreme temperature changes. Corningware glass is non-reactive and non-porous so it does not absorb stain or odor and there is no way for contaminants and toxins from previous dishes to leach into your food. It is perfect for liquid-based dishes because it does not retain odors and food particles or stains. Its glass material also makes it easy to clean, hygienic and sparklingly fresh. It is also elegantly designed for serving. All you need is one dish to Cook, Serve and Store, from the freezer—to the fire—to the table. Available in most Corelle’s patterns, Corningware complements the dinnerware, allowing the hosts to proudly serve the best for their loved ones.
- PYREX became synonymous with baking when the first 10-inch flan dish was sold in stores in the U.S. in 1915. Since then, Pyrex has been providing glass bakeware that is affordable, durable, odour and stain-resistant, designed to help generations of home bakers get the most out of their oven.Pyrex glass is non-porous so it does not stain or retain food odors or risks leaching contaminants into your food. You can also bake and serve in the same dish and put it in the freezer. Its transparent design allows easy monitoring of the food being baked while its airtight silicon lids maintain the safety and freshness of raw ingredients and finished dishes.
- Cooking literally becomes crystal clear with VISIONS. Its iconic amber-coloured, see through range of cookware ensures no more messy boil overs or evaporated, burnt food that is hard to clean off. Made from cutting-edge material, Visions is thermal shock resistant and can be used on stove tops, in ovens and microwaves as well as in fridges and dishwashers, making this the most versatile cookware in the heart of your home. Visions represents healthy cooking at its best. Ideal for liquid based cooking, its non-porous material does not absorb food odours or flavours and does not react with acid-based food, allowing you to prepare healthy meals for your loved ones time and again.
After the introduction of the four brands, was a cooking demo by Chef Katherine Jao. She cooked three easy and delicious dishes using Corningware, Pyrex, and Visions.
Then there was a sampling of what she cooked and was served to us in Corelle bowls and plates. It was an open event at the 3rd floor of SM North EDSA and everyone can really join in. I was seated at the back but I could hear the host clearly. (I wouldn’t be surprised if they are using Sample Logic Pro Audio in their sound system backstage)
Anyway, going to the event made me realize the importance of the kinds of cookware and dinnerware that we use at home. It also made want that new Olive Garden design of Corelle…
