Late last year, I found out that my former alma mater, La Consolacion College, already has a swimming pool and is now accepting enrollees for swimming lessons this Summer. I was really glad because this school is just a walking distance from our home.
Ykaie had her swimming lessons for the two previous years at MCU (2012 and 2013) and it was really good because she learned how to swim in a span of two weeks at one hour session per day.
The swimming pool at La Consolacion College is located at the ground floor of the Sta. Monica building. I remember this building because this was where my classroom was located when I was in junior and senior year in highschool. Since it was located at the ground floor, the pool was covered and there was no need to bring sunscreen anymore. Unlike in MCU, where in the lessons are held in an outdoor pool.
What I don’t like about it is that, the space around the pool is not that big. Parents and guardians are advised to stay at the waiting area near the kiddie pool. This prevented me from taking a lot of photos of Ykaie. I managed to get some videos, though.
Her swimming lessons costs ₱3,500. It’s for 10 sessions at 1 hour per session everyday. There’s unlimited playtime after.
The 10th session is their graduation day and each student has to swim across the pool before they are given their certificates.

Coach asked if she wanted to be varsity for swimming this year. She told me practice is gonna be everyday at 5pm – 7pm. I don’t think Ykaie could handle it. It’s too much for a 6 year old. Maybe when she gets older and she’s interested.
Right now, I just want her to take swimming lessons because it could save her life and she enjoys it.
