“When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive—to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love—then make that day count!” ― Steve Maraboli, Life, the Truth, and Being Free
I know I haven’t been dilligent in posting my gratitude list. Yes, I know I did promise to post a weekly list but August is a such a busy (and devastating) month for me.
I’m very THANKFUL that our home was finished the second week of August and we were finally able to move in last August 19th. It was such a hectic week! peanutbutter♥, Ykaie, and I were tired almost every single day. We juggled school, work, moving, and me bleeding through my second pregnancy.
I had an Anembryonic Pregnancy and had a miscarriage because of that. I’m still very much thankful that I went through that experience. I learned to value life more. I learned how to accept things as they happened and still rise through it happy, positive, and hopeful.
JR, Our New Pet
Did I tell you we have a pet with us when we moved into our new home? Yup, we now officially have a pet — a Shih Tzu named J.R.! I’m so grateful that I am learning how to take care of a pet once again. I had pet rabbits when I was in college and when they died I got sad and depressed that I vowed never to take care of pets again. Well, now I found a new pet to love♥.
J.R. is like a baby and he is very makulit but he’s adorable. And even though he plays with chews my slippers, the kitchen handtowels, and licks the oven — I still find him cute.
Ykaie, my Little Kitchen Helper
I am thankful for my little kitchen helper, Ykaie. She doesn’t wanna wake up on a school day but wakes up really early on a weekend. She helped me prepare this CornSiLog for our breakfast last week.
I am thankful to Krispy Kreme for inviting our family to the block screening of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles where Ykaie won this mug and cap!
The Roasted Chicken
Lunch yesterday is Roasted Quarter Chicken with Broccoli and Cauliflower. I’m very thankful that God has provided us with food ever single day. I am thankful for the inspiration and energy that he gives me so I can come up with healthy and delicious food for my family.
Crossing my fingers I can post another gratitude list next week.
What are you thankful for this week?

I’m just thankful that this week has been an easier one than last week (so far)! I made roasted chicken quarters last night for dinner, too hehe. Mine had carrots and kamote, and I drizzled it with lemon-infused olive oil.

It’s great how you stay positive amidst all that’s happened, specially with baby #2. This is just inspiring. I wish I can cook as good as you do.
