Safe and Clean Drinking Water

Lemon and Mint Water

Today, I came across an article from Rappler about How safe is your drinking water?. And it made me think about how safe our drinking water is.

I still remember the day when people drink tap water. They just get a glass, put it under the running water from the faucet, and drink it. I don’t know what happened or if anybody got sick but water refilling stations started on sprouting around the metro and they became the source of clean and safe water for drinking and cooking.

We used to buy water from refilling station when we moved into out new home last year. We carefully chose which water refilling station to buy from. We looked for a water refilling station that has a clean surrounding, many filters, and staff that looked clean. It was okay for a couple of months but it came to a point that we realized it puts a dent in our budget and that sometimes it’s such a hassle to go out or have it delivered when you ran out.

So we set aside a budget and bought a filter that is attached to our faucet. That’s what we are using up until today for drinking and cooking. Well, at least for peanutbutter, Ykaie and me. Since Twinkle is still a baby, we buy her a branded bottled distilled water from the supermarket.

Now that we already have two children at home, I am considering buying  a water purifier like Unilever Pure It which has a Multi-Stage Purification Process. Our water filter can probably hold the fort for now but Twinkle will soon grow into a toddler and she will be drinking what we’re all drinking.

I want to be able to tell Ykaie and Twinkle that we are 100% safe in the water we are drinking.

  1. For us, we invested in a machine called Kangen Water® Ionization Machine Product which filters out impurities from water from the faucet and converts the water into alkaline. We can also choose which ph level to get (ph 5 for beauty water or water used for washing the face or body, ph 6-7 for regular drinking water and for taking medicine, and up to 8, 9, and 9.5 for drinking solid alkaline).
