It’s scary and creepy. I honestly don’t know how I would feel about it but yes, someone used my name to try and rent a car from someone.
Last April 13, I received a message on Facebook from a certain person, let’s just call him Mr. D, asking me to send my credentials for a car rental. As I am not renting a car, I politely told him that I am not renting a car.
He told me that someone is using my name and trying to rent his car. He did his research and found it fishy so he contacted me to let me know. He even told me that there’s another FB account using my name.
I searched FB and here’s what I found. An account under Peachy Valderrama Adarne with a photo of Bea Alonzo as Betty La Fea! This account has 1,000++ friends which also looked like fake accounts! (I’ve already reported it to FB)
Mr. D also shared with me a screen shot of a part of their SMS conversation…
He asked if the texter is the “kitchen lady” in which the texter who was pretending to be me replied with “Sir, ill txt the update nlng po“.
It’s a good thing that Mr. D is retired military from US and is very careful. He did his research first before confirming the transaction. Or else who knows what might’ve happened. ( A big THANKS to him, I found out about it)
We should all be very careful and do extensive research before getting involved in business transactions even with people we already know but most specially with people we don’t.
It’s really scary how people can just assume your identity online.
To friends and relatives, please be aware of possible impostor or poser. I have only one mobile number and I’ve been using it for 8 years now. I will only use that number and my personal e-mails to contact people.

This is so sad. People are just using/stealing our identities like that. Indeed, let’s be careful with our transactions.
