Recognition Day 2025: Ykaie Makes Us Proud (Again!)

Ykaie’s Recognition Day last year was held on the 6th floor of Victory Mall. Ah, what a blessing that air conditioning was. We were sitting comfortably, enjoying the cool breeze while clapping for our hardworking students. Fast forward to this year—same event, different vibe. This time around, the school decided to hold it on the school grounds. Now, normally, that would’ve been fine… but since it’s the peak of summer in the Philippines, the heat was seriously next level. Think sun blazing, sweat dripping, and me armed with a battery-operated fan like it was my most prized possession. 😂

Despite the heat, nothing could stop me from showing up for my girl. Only one parent was allowed to accompany each awardee because the school grounds couldn’t really handle a big crowd, which made sense. Still, I was glad to be the one to go and cheer her on!

The program kicked off at around 4:30 PM. The sun was still high, but we powered through—fans, bottled water, and all. It finally wrapped up around 7:30 PM, just as the sky started to cool off and turn a pretty shade of dusk.

And of course, the highlight of the day: Ykaie received “With High Honors” and the “Bronze Seal, Principal’s List”! 💖✨

I honestly don’t think there are enough words to express just how proud we are. All those nights of studying, reviewing, and juggling school activities—she handled it all like a champ. Seeing her go up on stage with that big smile on her face was enough to make all the sweaty struggles of the day totally worth it.

To celebrate, we headed over to Tien Ma’s Taiwanese Cuisine (a family favorite!) for a nice dinner. Her Nanay Pinky treated us all—thank you, Sis! It was the perfect way to cap off such a special day. Dumplings, noodles, laughter, and lots of proud glances exchanged across the table. 🥰

To my dearest Ykaie,

We are so incredibly proud of you! Your hard work, late nights, and endless dedication have all paid off—and we couldn’t be happier. You continue to amaze us with your determination, grace, and bright spirit. Keep reaching for the stars, anak. There is nothing you can’t do. Dream big and stay kind always. 💕

We love you and will always be here, cheering you on every step of the way.

Congratulations ate Ykaie! We are SUPER DUPER proud of you! 🎉🎓💖
