Tough Love: Joy with a Touch of Olay

I love everything that has to do with the kitchen. I love cooking, I love baking, I love re-organizing my spices, I even love re-arranging the kitchen — but if there’s one thing I dread, –it’ll be washing the dishes, pots, and pans. Well, I don’t really hate washing them per se. What I hate is how my hands feel afterwards. My hands gets really dry, itchy, and flaky. Something which I don’t get when doing the laundry even though these two chores both use a lot of water. That got me into thinking that maybe dishwashing liquids are too strong for my hands or that maybe I am allergic.

That’s why I am really thankful that P&G Joy finally have a dishwashing a liquid for those moms who have problems like mine .

On March 5 at the Blue Leaf- Silk Pavilion in Taguig, I attended Tough Love, an event that  highlighted the trials of housework and the new Joy with a Touch of Olay, a new dishwashing variant of P&G Joy.

The event was hosted by DJ Anne of Wave 89.1 and is graced by the bubbly and beautiful Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla.

According to P&G Brand Communications Leader Anna Legarda “Joy with Olay strives to take care of women. It is formulated with Vitamin E, an antioxidant that helps repair the skin and nourishes the hands by locking in the skin’s moisture. Joy with Olay does not dry the hands, making them “touching moment” ready,”.

Before the event, I’ve actually seen Joy with a Touch of Olay TVC and I thought it was weird. When I had a chance to use it at home, I didn’t think it was weird at all. I’m absolutely sure that this is the product I need for dishwashing. It smells really good and more like a beauty product instead of the lemony-clean scent we are all used to.

Don’t fret, though, because it still delivers what all Joy product does…. only it doesn’t dry out your hands and keeps them soft and smooth. That beauty product smell is actually a bonus because when you smell your hands, it didn’t seem like you’ve been washing the dishes all along.

Tough Love Challenge

At the event, Mariel and members of the media underwent four different household challenges, including chopping vegetables, squeezing lemons, opening cans through manual tools, and dishwashing.

All of these challenges simulated the experiences women feel whenever they do household chores. These stations were also time-pressured to mirror the multi-tasking lives of modern women every day.

It was also nice seeing mommy blogger friends at the event! We did some selfies and one of them is this. I think I’ll print postcards with us as the cover.

  1. I would definitely add this in my grocery cart. I only choose a product that is gentle for my hand. I have dry hands and even gets drier when washing the dishes.

  2. wow! I didnt know this! Im not really a television person so i was not updated about these type of products. But it sounds really interesting. Will recommend this to mom, I know she’ll love it.

  3. We use Joy too but without the Olay version. I think I saw it once and it’s a bit pricey so I just bought the regular one. However, I love Olay’s product and I think they work best for Filipina skins. Most of my facial product comes from Olay.

  4. Wow, it’s good that Joy and Olay have partnered now. I don’t really like washing dishes because my hands get wrinkled (I mean, kumukulubot haha ) but now that Joy has the power of Olay I guess we won’t feel that anymore, but instead we’ll feel moisturized. I should get one to use at home. It is more needed by my mama.

  5. I’m a bit iffy that the product smells like beauty soap and not the usual citrus cleanser scent. But it’s not bothersome naman? Been wanting to try this coz my hands are super dry na from washing. Yun lang, that’s my only concern hehe.
