Beliefs in Moving Into a New Home and Our New Home!

Moving Into a New Home

So here’s what’s keeping me away from my blogs these days! We’ve moved into our new home!!!

Yes, we were finally able to move in to our new home last tuesday.ย  Whew! Moving is harder than I thought even if your previous house is located just right across the street. It’s almost a week now and we’re still not finished with moving. We had to go out and buy a lot of stuff for our house too( and I also looked for magnetic bracelets while were at it).

Moving Into a New Home

Anyway, before moving in last tuesday we managed to buy some furnitures and appliances. First things first before anything comes inside the house, these had to go in: rice, salt, and some coins (these coins are from our computer shop’s blessing).

Yes, I do believe in pamahiins and I think there’s nothing wrong if you follow them.

Superstitious Beliefs When Moving into a New House

Our house was constructed from our previous business which is a computer shop. Our old building was taken down except for one wall (you know, something old, something new), and then a new building was constructed. Here are some of the superstitious beliefs when moving or constructing a new home:

  1. You should start the construction of your house in the months of March, June, July, August, September or November. Our house construction started last March 17, 2014.
  2. They say that it is bad luck for a house to have 13 posts.
  3. You should put old coins, medals, or religious tokens in the foundation of the house. These coins should be incorporated in the cement being poured into the foundation. This will give you a bountiful and peaceful life while living inside that house.
  4. The steps of the stairs shouldn’t be in counted in three’s, the steps should be counted based on Oro (gold), Plata (Silver) and Mata (Death) and it should always end in Oro (Gold).
  5. You should move on a wednesday or saturday. We moved on a tuesday (sigh).
  6. The first things that should be moved inside the house are rice and salt.
  7. Others also move in coins (like us) or scatters them in the living room for luck.

Moving Into a New Home

Our new home is a blessing. It’s actually bigger that I expected it to be. The construction was really nice, speedy, and professional. (If you’re looking for construction in Australia, you should go to Sherbrooke Design and Construction.

I didn’t take a photo of all the rooms because our things are either in boxes or in plastic bags and are scattered all over the house. Here’s a preview of my new kitchen. What do you think of it? I loved it! It’s small but it’s all mine!!! Weeee! I can’t wait to start cooking…

  1. August is a ghost month. You should have waited til sept to move in. It’s bad luck to get married, start a business, move in a house or even undergo surgery in August.

I have something new to share to my clients.:)
