The holiday season is fast approaching and that means it’s almost time to start buying gifts. Whether they are from “Santa” or for an older loved one, don’t wait until the last minute (again) and ensure you find the perfect gifts for everyone on your list… and possibly save a few bucks in the process! Here are a few ideas we have come up with to help you find exactly what you need.
The Young Ones
Typically, the younger the child, the easier they are to buy for. It is also really easy to find out what they want; all you have to do is show them that season’s toy catalog. Usually, Toys-R-Us will send out catalogs in the mail, or with the morning newspaper so you can share them with your little ones and see what items excite them the most. Make mental notes as you flip through the pictures and then go to your local store and hunt your toys down the next time you go for errands. You can save some legwork if you want by searching online or calling ahead.
The Tweeners
Once kids start to grow up and stop playing with toys as much, it can be a little harder to get that perfect gift. You can always play it safe and get them a gift card so they can choose exactly what they want. To find out what store (or stores) to get them cards to, just look at their current possessions. For young men, consider technology! If they have been using the same pair of old headphones forever, maybe a Brookstone or BOSE gift card would be perfect. For the young ladies in your life, you can really never go wrong with clothes or makeup, so places like ULTA or Neiman Marcus can’t fail!
The Young Professional
Once your child is no longer a child, they become MUCH easier to buy presents for again; mostly because they are poor and can’t afford even some of the most basic luxuries… or needs in some situations. To really help them out, nonchalantly ask them something they want but can’t afford at the moment because of other priorities. You might be surprised how excited a young adult would be about a new pair of sneakers or dress shoes from Payless Shoes or a few nice shirts at Kohl’s.
