Embracing All Kinds of Beauty with Dove

A few weeks ago I receive this pretty personalized packaged from Dove. You know how much I love anything personalized. So the moment I saw my name written in shiny gold on top of this box, I got excited.

I opened it and out came these wonderful Dove products and personalized notepad, pen, and water bottle plus a dove necklace. The box says “be your own kind of beautiful”.

It also has a card that says Dove believes every woman should celebrate her real beauty.

In this day and age where beauty is sometimes defined by weight, height, color of skin, or texture of hair, I am so glad that Dove is encouraging every woman to embrace real beauty. It encourages all women to express her uniquenesss and inspire others to do the same.

Growing up I didn’t see myself as beautiful. I was chubby, had thick wavy hair, and well, chubby. The chubbyness is enough for me to not feel beautiful. I began to slim down in high school and then got fat again towards the end of highschool. Then slimmed down again in college until I got married and had Ykaie. Now that I have my Twinkle, I am embracing all my chubbiness with the goal of being healthy in mind.

I now believe that there are all kinds of beauty and that beauty is universal. Thanks to Dove for always reminding me.

Now, I see all kinds of beauty and that’s what I’m telling my kids — especially Ykaie who is growing up to be a little miss now.
