Christmas this year is a whole lot different from our past Christmases. We usually spend Noche Buena and Christmas Day with lots of food and either with my side of the family — that’s my sis who calls herself Anney, cousins, nieces, nephews — OR with peanutbutter♥‘s side of the family — mama Lucy, papa Sony, Ate Arlene and family, and the rest of the Adarne clan.

This year because of the pandemic, we celebrated it here at home — just us 4 — peanutbutter♥, Ykaie, Twinkle, and me.
To tell you honestly, I wasn’t that excited when the season started. I felt sad and didn’t feel all Christmassy and celebrating but because of twinkle, I put up some Christmas decorations kasi excited sya eh. Our Christmas tree isn’t even in full gear because I didn’t feel like going to Dapitan Arcade (nor ordering through Shopee) to buy Chrsitmas decors. Pero sabi nga nila …Tuloy na tuloy pa rin ang Pasko…. and I got the Christmas spirit halfway through the season. I even finished attending Simbang Gabi — even if it’s online only.
Our Noche Buena
I initially wanted a nice Christmas table setting and started planning our menu of salmon, pasta .. and another thing (na hindi ko pa alam kung ano). Then the family said they wanted hotpot.
Good thing I always have some of the ingredients ready like the laksa paste, chicken broth soup concentrate, cheese stuffed squid balls and other balls, and glass noodles vermicelli. I bought meat and mushrooms na lang from the Korean grocery and fresh veggies from the market.
Syempre bawal sa akin ang spicy food at the moment — huhuhu so I wasn’t able to eat laksa but I enjoyed the one with the Chicken soup base.
