I bought this Dora The Explorer travel kit to keep Ykaie from being bored when traveling. This travel kit is just a coloring/ activity pad and color pencils.
I bought this because sometimes I feel like Ykaie is relying too much on gadgets to be entertained. Gadgets like tablets or cellphones.
There are times when your simple good old coloring book is needed. It’s also a nice mother-and-daughter bonding activity because it let’s you make conversation with your daughter while coloring with her.
The other day, when Ykaie and I ate at McDonald’s in Victory Mall, one of the crew handed out this registration form told me that maybe I want to let Ykaie join the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop.
Well, it’s one of those things that I want Ykaie to experience.
The McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop is a 5-day summer program specially designed for kids ages 6-12 years old. During each workshop day, Kiddie Crew members will get to experience on-floor training like greeting customers and assisting the crew at the drive-thru and front counters; showcase their skills through creative art workshops; and learn the importance of hard work, discipline and teamwork, through values formation lessons.
No, I don’t think I’m letting Ykaie work at such a very young age. I think that there are many things that she could learn in this work shop.
The thing is, here at the nearest McDonald’s branch, they only have three batches from April 1, 2013 and I couldn’t enroll Ykaie in one of them because we have lots of out of town trips.

I’m sure that aside from learning she will definitely have fun! After all, McDonald’s is her favorite fastfood chain. Besides, she could gain some new friends….

Today, Ykaie and I went to the Nido Fortified Science Discovery Center and were among the first ones to enjoy and experience The Science of Cartoons.
Like every other kid I know, Ykaie loves Ben 10, Finn and Jake from Adventure Time, and Gumball and Darwin from The Amazing World of Gumball.
The Science of Cartoons serves as a treat for families, and offers a great way to have fun while putting kids’ creative skills to work.
Kids can play with their imagination in a giant cartoon-making activity that involves building the Giant Ben 10 and other Cartoon Network favorites.
