When you find out that you are expecting a baby, you will probably want to begin shopping for accessories for baby’s room. Whether it is your first or fifth child, there is never enough that you can get for the new arrival. If you don’t know the gender of the baby, then stay with colors that are neutral such as green or yellow. However, if you do know the gender of the baby, then you can get more detailed accessories in specific colors and themes.

From diaper bags to wall decals, there is a long list of items that you can purchase. Let the size of the room dictate the amount of items that you will purchase. Don’t go overboard with accessories if the room is small. If the room is larger, try to space the accessories evenly so that the space is utilized in the best way possible. You also need to think about the furniture in the room and what can be used with the crib, changing table and other larger pieces. The diaper bag is one of the most important accessories as this will go with you when you visit family, run errands and go on trips. A small bag is good for short trips, but if you plan on being gone for a few hours or an extended time, then a larger bag is better.

If you don’t want to paint the room, then consider wallpaper and wall decals. These decals can be removed later on as the child gets older so that the theme of the room can be easily changed. If you don’t want to get a bassinet, then consider a Moses basket. These are also great accessories for laying the baby during the day while you clean or cook.
