Save 2 Diapers Per Day with #LessPalitMoreSulit Pampers!

Twinkle is one super active and super kulit kid!

She loves playing and running around. She plays with her doll house, she jumps around the living room from sofa to sofa imagining the floor as lava (she learned this from ate Ykaie). Nagbubukas na ng fridge to look for her favorite yogurt drinks, chocolates, or ice drops. And I think she runs for the sake of running. She still drinks milk from the bottle but she also eats lots of cookies, “pagetti” and fried chicken. Oh, and she calls me “mommy, mommy, mooooommmy” 4,678,897 a day.

Because I work at home, I get to to be her playmate 24/7 and when I’m with Twinkle, I don’t worry about anything — especially not about her diapers.

I used to think pare-pareho lang lahat ng diapers. So I used to buy the cheapest brand I could find but now I know better! Hindi laging sulit ang mura. I now believe it’s much sulit to buy better quality diapers. We use Pampers! Pampers is less lawlaw because it absorbs weewee from front to back and because of that there’s less palit of diapers. Syempre dahil less palit more savings!

Pampers “Less Palit More Sulit” Challenge

To find out if it’s really true, I did the “Less Palit More Sulit Challenge” from Pampers. Sa Day 1, we used only ordinary diapers and on Day 2, Pampers.

Tapos, bibilangin natin kung ilang diapers ang nagagamit per day, at kung makakasulit ka ba talaga dahil sa less lawlaw na Pampers…

After Day 1, we were able to use 6 diapers. We changed diapers as soon as the diaper gets lawlaw. Alam nyo naman na hindi comfortable ang diaper kapag lawlaw na. Twinkle finds it uncomfortable to walk or play. Minsan nga she thinks she has poop because it’s lawlaw and wet and she tells me. I tell her wala naman.

On Day 2, we were able to use 4 Pampers.. because it’s less lawlaw and it’s drier, there’s less palit of diapers. That means we saved 2 diapers! Think of how much you can save in a year if you’re able to save 2 diapers per day. Ang laking tipid no?

But what I love about it is that Twinkle can move, play, and run hangga’t gusto nya because she’s at her most comfortable. Hindi kasi lawlaw and diaper nya. Kids learn as they play and I love na walang sagabal sa learning at development nya.

Absolute Wellness Kits for the Moms at Fabella Memorial Hospital

Usually when the month of September arrives, I couldn’t think of anything else other than it’s the beginning of Christmas. This September is quite different because I was able to experience and celebrate Absolute Mommy Wellness month. Absolute Mommy Wellness month is Absolute Distilled Drinking Water’s campaign that focuses on the health and wellness of post-birth mothers and of course, their babies.

The campaign includes distribution of Absolute Wellness Kits to more than 3,000 mommies in both private and public hospital.

It was both an honor and a heartwarming experience that I got to be a part of the distribution of these Mommy Wellness Kits at the Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital. Staying hydrated is essential not only to the physical recovery of post-birth mommies but also for them to be able to breastfeed their babies smoothly. That is why it’s important to choose 100% distilled drinking water like Absolute.

I also gave birth to both Purple and Periwinkle in a public hospital so I can relate to the mommies at Fabella Memorial. However, I gave birth in a small hospital only so finding out about the Kangaroo Mother Care Unit there piqued my curiosity. Kangaroo Mother Care or KMC is a technique of newborn care where babies are kept skin-to-skin with a parent 24/7, typically the moms. It is most commonly used for low birth-weight and/or preterm babies.

There at the KMC Unit, I was able to bond with Mommy Aimee Borja. She gave birth last August 12 to girl and boy twins Angel Mary and Audrey John. Audrey John is a healthy baby boy but Angel Mary has a low birh weight of only 1.7kg and she has hingal. ha’s he reason why they are in KMC. She has to reach 2.1kg.

Mommy Aimee is a certified Absolute mommy and she knows how important hydration is as well as choosing safe and clean 100% distilled water. She told me that the nurses and doctors at Fabella Memorial are amazing and they give their all taking care of post-birth mommies. That is really good to know and it warms the heart to hear that these mommies are well-taken cared of. As we all know, we can’t pour from an empty cup so because they are well taken cared of, they will also be able to take great care of their babies.

There I was, holding baby Audrey John and mommy Aimee holding baby Angel Mary on her chest. It was so nice getting to know her and I’m sure Angel Mary will reach her ideal weight soon because mommy Aimee is giving them her Absolute love.

Thank you so much Absolute Distilled for making me a part this. It was such a wonderful experience to meet new moms and share birthing and baby stories with them. This is one of my most memorable experience to date!

Breastfeeding: Giving Your Absolute Love For Your Baby

It’s August and it’s National Breastfeeding Awareness Month. I think nothing deserves more acknowledgement than breastfeeding mamas who choose to breastfeed their babies no matter how hard it is.

Breastfeeding: Giving Your Absolute Love For Your Baby — Breastfeeding Ykaie

Everybody knows that breastfeeding is best for our babies. Aside from the fact that breast milk contains all the vitamins and minerals that our babies needs in their first six months of life, it also contains the disease-fighting anti bodies that help protect our babies from illness and germs or bacteria.

This is one reason why experts and the government encourages mothers to breastfeed. Another is that breastfeeding can save more money than you think. Well, because it’s free.

When I first got pregnant with Ykaie my initial worries about breastfeeding was if I would produce enough milk for her. I didn’t give it much thought because what could be easier than breastfeeding? It’s a natural process that every mom and child goes through.

When Ykaie was born, she had trouble latching on. I remember feeling like a failure because I couldn’t make her latch properly. Also, my nipples that wasn’t inverted when I wasn’t pregnant suddenly became inverted after giving birth. I didn’t know it could happen! My simple thoughts about breastfeeding were immediately replaced by frustration and worries.

With Twinkle, it was more of the same. She had a weak latch when she was born. She was feeding a little but what she wanted more of was to sleep beside my breast and she didn’t wanna let go of it. Each time we take her away, she would scream and cry and she won’t stop until she’s back beside my breast. Come feeding time, she would have trouble latching and when she finally did, I’d wonder if she’d gotten enough.

A few moments later, she would wake up crying again and we would have trouble latching. When she finally gets to latch it would seem like she isn’t getting enough milk. It was a vicious cycle which left me feeling frustrated. We finally found out that I had low milk supply and that she really isn’t getting enough milk that she’s supposed to.

This is when I felt really guilty that I wasn’t able to breastfeed as easily as other moms. I felt guilty that I had low milk supply for my baby. I felt guilty that I wasn’t experiencing that calm, connected feeling they are saying you experience whenever you breastfeed your child. I wasn’t gonna let that guilt eat me from the inside, though. My little angel is depending on me.

So first and foremost, I tried to get as much rest as I can. I ate well mostly soupy ulams like Tinola (with lots of Malunggay leaves) and Nilaga. And since I was drinking for two, I remained hydrated by drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day. I drank Absolute 100% Distilled Water, of course. I also took malunggay capsules.

We were able to latch properly too. Soon, I was able to breastfeed but not for long. It didn’t turn out like I hope for but I’m proud of myself for doing all that I could do. I did the best thing I could do and I think that makes me a great mom.

One of the lessons I learned throughout my breastfeeding journey is to give respect to all moms out there — whether they were able to breastfeed for 1 month or up to 2 years, whether they were able to breastfeed easily or exclusively, whether they pumped or had their babies on unli-latch. Breastfeeding a baby is not a walk in the park and when doing so, a mother is giving their all to their babies… their Absolute Love. And nothing could be more important than that.
