Ykaie’s toy guitar just got broken and I was surprised when she asked me to buy her this fender blacktop telecaster baritone electric guitar at guitar center. She thought it’s just another toy guitar when she saw it online. LOL!

I explained to her that it’s not a toy and that it’s a real guitar that grown-up musicians use. Good thing she listened to my explanation and looked for a toy guitar at a toystore site instead.

I don’t really know much about guitars. All I know is that the finest guitar cost more than the regular ones and because I’m not really that musically inclined, I was never interested to own one. But some of my nieces and a couple of my girl neighbors who are teenagers are so into guitars. They are trying to learn how to play it and some even asked their dads to teach them.

One of my nieces asked her mom for a guitar last Christmas and because she was a “good girl”, she was given a pink one. I guess I already know what to give her next Christmas — a beautiful guitar pick and exquisite Martin guitar strings.

This remo 100 key-tuned tubanos can be quite a conversation piece at home. It’s a great display piece on a side table in the living room or at the dining room. And it plays great music.

I’m starting to think that it’s the perfect accent for our theme on Christmas. Sis and I gearing up on Filipino fusions. Healthy Filipino fare accented by a twist.
