I enrolled Ykaie for the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop because I want her to experience what if feels like to be in a workshop and in a business and customer oriented environment. No, I don’t think it’s such too young an age for her to be experiencing such. I think her age is just right because not only will it open her eyes, it will also teach her to be more friendly and to be open to new experiences.
The McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop is a 5-day summer program specially designed for kids ages 6-12 years old. During each workshop day, Kiddie Crew members will get to experience on-floor training like greeting customers and assisting the crew at the drive-thru and front counters; showcase their skills through creative art workshops; and learn the importance of hard work, discipline and teamwork, through values formation lessons.
FIRST DAY
Luckily, she already knew someone in class — my friend Rizza’s son, Mark Jeffrey who also took the workshop with his cousin.
Ykaie’s schedule is 1pm-3pm everyday.
Orientation was scheduled on their first day. Their batch was toured around the store and each station was explained to them.

Meals were scheduled and for the first day, they had McSpaghetti. Ykaie doesn’t eat spaghetti with tomato sauce but she tried appreciating what was given to her. Good job, Ykaie!
I wasn’t able to come with Ykaie on her second day because I have to be somewhere and I just asked her Lola Eva to accompany her. Their activity on that day included painting their aprons.
THIRD DAY
Third day was arts and crafts. They were asked to bring two 2×2 photos and they made their own picture frame. I helped in glue-ing some of the parts, of course!
But Ykaie was very happy with the result of our picture frame…
After that, the kids were asked to go down and they were allowed to assist the crew at the counter.
Ykaie, Jeff and his cousin, were assigned at the small dessert counter at the corner of the store. They greeted the customers and thanked them with a smile.
FOURTH DAY
Fourth day was when they brought their aprons because they’re gonna make their own cheeseburger!
Ykaie was very proud of her burger and told me that she made it for me. She was very adamant that I eat that cheeseburger. Oh well, it was the most delicious McDonald’s Cheeseburger that I’ve ever eaten in my whole life!
FIFTH DAY
At last! Graduation Day! There played some games and toys were given. Most of all, they were given their pins and certificates.
Then they had a small presentation and sang “Make It Happen”. It was a nice song backed by a nice melody.

Ykaie had loads of fun at the workshop that she asked me to enroll her again next year.
