Our Baguio Trip 2018 : Hotel Elizabeth

Since it’s super kadooper hot here in Manila these days, I finally remembered how much I loved the weather in Baguio last December. It reminded me that even though I’ve already shared with you our food trips (Chocolate De Batirol, Good Taste Resto, and Glenn 50’s Diner) , I haven’t shared with you the rest of our trip.

Well, every December, when it’s Christmas time, my SIL and her family comes home from Dubai. Of course, we always make it a point to spend time together and to bond as a family. Last year, we decided to go to Baguio right before Christmas. We stayed at Hotel Elizabeth. I chose this hotel and booked the reservation because I know that Hotel Elizabeth has a Penthouse Suite that can accommodate all of us. Ykaie and I have been there in 2012 when I was invited with my fellow bloggers.

OUR ROOM

Our Baguio Trip 2018 : Hotel Elizabeth — Living Room

The Executive Penthouse Suite costs ₱16,000 ++ per night. It has one king sized bed on its Master’s bedroom and 2 full-sized bed each for the 2 Guests Rooms. The room is complete with cable TV and a free WI-FI access. It is designed with wide window space and balcony that transforms the room to its optimum ambiance. It is located at the top floor that makes you enjoy the view of the mountains. The standard occupancy is 6 adults but they allow a maximum of 8 sharing the room with the two additional persons at an extra person/bed charge payable at the hotel. Inclusive of daily breakfast.

This is our room. Ykaie got the single bed while peanutbutter♥, Twinkle, and I shared the bigger bed.

The rooms are not air-conditioned. Syempre naman no, who needs a/c in Baguio, especially in December…

This is the balcony where you can get a really magnificent and relaxing view, especially in the morning when you’ve just woken up.

Our stay at Hotel Elizabeth has been really nice. The hotel staff are always cheerful and helpful. The place is clean and breakfast is aplenty!

Our Stay At Kasa Luntian Tagaytay

Tagaytay is and will always be one of our favorite places to go to when we want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

First is because it’s only a two-hour drive away, second is because of the cold weather, and third is because there’s an abundance of resorts, hotels, and b&b’s where you can stay and relax. If you’re following me on Instagram (If not, follow me na @thepeachkitchen) and IG Stories, you know that a week after our Taiwan vacation, nag-staycation naman kami sa Kasa Luntian.

Kasa Luntian is actually leisure residential condominium developed by Alveo Land while The Serviced Residences At Kasa Luntian naman provides daily, weekly, or monthly accomodations accompanied by impeccable service… just like your favorite resort or hotel.

Our Room – One Bedroom Suite

We had the one bedroom suite with a published rate of ₱7,000 for two adults and two kids.

It features a bedroom with a king bed, separated by a sliding door from the living room which has a sofa that doubles as a bed na rin, if you have four people staying in the room.

It has a fully functioning kitchen with a Nespresso Machine. If you are planning on cooking you’re own food, you can do so because inside the cabinets are pots, pans, dinnerware, and utensils.

The small dining area turned into my “office” that night.

This is the coffee and tea making facility. I love that their water bottles comes in glass bottles instead of plastic.

The Swimming Pool

The swimming pool is located at the center of the estate. It’s made up of four cascaded swimming pools with the bottom two being heated pool.

Twinkle and Ykaie was very excited when they saw this, pero syempre merienda muna at the veranda before swimming para may energy…

After waking up the next morning, gusto na agad ni Twinkle mag-swimming!

But of course, we have to have breakfast first. Breakfast was at Taza Mia! located at The Lanai.

And because it was a cold morning, we thought it best to stay at the heated pool at the bottom. Ykaie and twinkle had so much fun swimming at ayaw na umahon! If only we can stay longer there we would — it’s so nice to stay there. The staff are approachable, friendly, and accommodating. It’s clean! And most of all, it’s close to everything — the road, the mall, the restaurants, and the coffee shops.

Summer is blazing in the city now, if you’re looking for a quick family getaway that would take you away from the hustle and bustle and give you a cozy escape, then you should try a staycation at The Serviced Residences at Kasa Luntian.

Taiwan Day 4: All Around Taichung

It’s our last day of pasyal in Taiwan and my sister who calls herself Anney scheduled a tour around Taichung. She booked two taxis which she found on a Facebook group who would help us go around popular tourist spots in the said city.

The Rainbow Village

The Rainbow Village is a street art in Taichung created by a former soldier. Ang kulay ng small village na to.. ang sarap mag-selfie!

Dakeng Lover’s Bridge

Our next stop is the Dakeng Lover’s Bridge. According to our “guide” this pink bridge with a unique, modern design is a popular spot for photo opps.

Summit Castle Resort

The Summit Castle Resort (or Summit Resort or Xinshe Castle) is one of the must visit in Taichung because the place is so beautiful. It’s a medieval-themed spot with castles, bridges, and small rivers.

It’s quite big and exploring and taking photos will take a few hours. Better bring sunblocks and insect repellants if you’re planning to explore and go around the place.

There’s an entrance fee of NT$250 (adult) / NT$150 (child between 7 to 12 years old, and elderly above 65 years old) but NY$100 is consumable for food and drinks. The drinks are good and refreshing but it costs around NT$140-160.

We were in Taichung up until lunch. Tapos naghubad na kami ng coat dahil ang init!

Coming from Taoyuan where the weather is super cold early in the morning (and still a sweater-weather the whole day), we thought it’s also gonna be like that in Taichung but it’s not… parang ‘Pinas lang ang weather pag tanghaling tapat!

At kahit na ubod ng init.. we decided to have these for lunch…

and my Milk Tea #4 is this… I think this is from Tea Shop 168(?) and it tastes really good! The best milk tea I had so far when I was there.

We woke up early the next day for our flight back to Manila.

It was a short but sweet stay in Taiwan. And right now, I’m thinking I want to go back just to try the other street food I missed. Kelan naman kaya yon?
