Isdaan Floating Restaurant and Fun Park – Calauan, Laguna
Last March, after going to the 17th Philippines Hot Air Balloon Festival in Clark Airfield, we decided to drop by Isdaan Restaurant in Gerona, Tarlac. We took an instant liking to the the whole concept of the restaurant-slash-theme-park that we immediately made plans to visit this other branch in Calauan,Laguna.
Last month on a Sunday, to put my newly acquired driving skills into practice, we decided to go to Isdaan for lunch.
Like the one in Tarlac, this is filled with larger than life replicas of buddhas, gorillas, mermaids, dinosaurs, a variety of animals and life-size replicas of the different disney characters, angry birds, hulk and other super heroes.
They also have the famous San Kilo bridge, a long and narrow bridge in between 9-ft deep water which you have to cross carrying a pail of water in each hand. If you’re able to cross it successfully without falling in the water, then you got yourself a a kilo of fresh fish which the restaurant will be happy to cook for you.

Isdaan Floating Restaurant and Fun Park~ Gerona, Tarlac
Isdaan Restaurant is the halfway point for those going from Metro Manila to Baguio or back that’s why it has become a popular stopover for motorists. But last month, we went here after going to the 17th Philippines Hot Air Balloon Festival in Clark Airfield.
We’ve been meaning to go here since June last year but for some reasons, our plans always got cancelled. This time, since we’re already in Angeles City which is around an hour and a half away, we decided to push it through.
What I love about Isdaan is that it’s atheme park and restaurant in one. It has a native ambience mixed with other Asian culture. I love the Mayan statues and the giant golden Buddha.
Because we we’re already starving and it’s past lunch time when we arrived, we decided to eat lunch first before going around the resort. Check out what we had for lunch here: Our Lunch.
We ordered their famous Pinatolang Baka, Kuhol sa Gata {Escargot in Coconut Milk},Marinated Grilled Spare Ribs, Pinukpok na Manok, Green Mango Salad and finished it off with Mango Sago. I wished right there and there that I brought some fat burners along with me.
