The Chocolate Hills

The Chocolate Hills is the most popular tourist attraction in Bohol. They look like giantt mole hills that are almost uniform in shape and size. These hills are covered in grass but during the dry season, the grass dries up and they turn chocolate brown, hence, acquiring the name Chocolate Hills.

We took photos the moment we arrived…

But to get a better view of these luscious hills we had to go to the observation deck.

The Observation deck is 214 steps away from the parking area… So up we went…

Another picture-taking while taking a breather…. we were not done with the 214 steps yet…look at peanutbutter♥, he was so tired he can’t even smile…

We finally reached the top and before anything else, we made a wish on the wishing well. Ykaie wished for a baby brother… LOL!

Psh! Thanks to peanutbutter♥ for making me upset before this photo was taken.. I’m laughing about it now but I told him he better take me back to Bohol so I can have my photo taken again at the Chocolate Hills ~~ smiling next time, of course.

The Bohol Man-Made Mahogany Forest

After a memorable lunch at Loboc River, we passed by the man-made forest on the way to the Chocolate Hills. The ambience is very relaxing as everything you see is green.

This man-made forest is located in the border of Loboc and Bilar. Its a two-kilometer stretch of mahogany trees which are almost of the same size.

The Philippine Tarsier

The Philippine Tarsier is one of the smallest primate in the world. Here in the Philippines it can only be found in Bohol.

Kuya Edgar was already at the resort when we arrived. So after our Dolphin Watching and Balicasag Island Tour, we immediately changed our clothes and went ahead with our country-side tour.

Our first stop was the Tarsier Sanctuary on the way to Loboc River. There are no entrance fee, they only have a donation box where you can drop whatever amount you want to give. I was very excited to see and touch the Tarsier, unfortunately we weren’t allowed to touch them.

And since these are nocturnal creature, the Tarsier assigned to have his picture taken with the visitors is kind of sleeping on the job..LOL!

But he is just totally CUTE♥. We didn’t mind that he was sleeping at all.

Before leaving the sanctuary, we shopped for souvenirs we can take home to our friends and relatives here in Manila. There are lots of different food and non-food items available. Most of them are tarsier items like shirts, pens, keychains, wallets, bags, and arm bands.

Next Stop: lunch at the famous floating restaurant in Loboc River.
